Saving Sadie

The Governor of Virginia asked that state employees participate in "A Day to Serve." We could pick any day between September 15th and 29th and volunteer. Robyn and I picked the SPCA in Clarksville, Virginia. Well....Robyn really picked it, and I decided that I'd tag along. I knew Robyn would make whatever we did fun.

I was really impressed that everything in the cages was cleaned every single day. I'm washing bowls in this picture and sporting a mighty sweeeeet apron.

All of the other kitties were a little shy...but this little chick knew what she was doing ~ Laid right over on my arm and started purring. So, I put her back in her cage and went to find Robyn.

She told me exactly what I wanted to hear ..... GET HER :)

So....long story, short. Sadie is now a member of the family. Thank you Governor McDonnell. I thoroughly enjoyed my Day to Serve ;)
